Elite Ice Hockey League Play-off Quarter-Final 2nd leg

Nottingham Panthers 3 Fife Flyers 0

Admission 16

Programme 3 double up for Tuesday's final against the Sheffield Steelers.

This game could have made or broke Panthers season after losing 4-2 away in Fife on the Saturday night. The game however went very well for the Panthers with goals coming from David Ling who rifled home a tight angle and then Eric Werner scored to level the game on aggregate on the powerplay.

Then came a flash point when the whistle was blew by Referee Smith and then the lights went on to say the puck had crossed the line. He said no goal but the went to speak to the goal judge before awarding the goal and then went back for another chat and made a final decision not to allow the goal.

In the 3rd Period Panthers scored the 3rd when Eric Beauregard played the puck across the goal to Robert Lachowicz who slotted home. Then though another Fife goal was disallowed for a man in the crease and the Panthers finally managed to kill of the game and go through to the Play off semi-finals.

Programme Paid for at the Sunday Fixture

I attended the Challenge cup final on Tuesday after booking a ticket whilst sitting in pit and pendulum at 11:00 on Sunday night to watch the Panthers play in a big game against Steelers.

This game was a big game for both teams because the Steelers who lost on the Sunday to Coventry in Overtime and then the Panthers who could make it 4 Challenge Cup Victories in the last 4 years.

The game itself started with the usual anticipation that comes with a Panthers V Steelers game who was without their Coach Ryan Finnerty after he picked up a suspension with the comments he made after the coventry loss. With 2 goals being scored in the first period by the Steelers of which left all Panthers fans on the edge of their seats. However this didn't last long before hot shot Bruce Graham scored on the rebound to put the game to bed.

After the game Sheffield skated straight off without waiting to pick up their runners-up medals and every Steelers supporter left straight after the game with only 1 staying to watch the Panthers pick up there medals and pick up the trophy of which was paraded in front of the sell out crowd with everyone chanting about the 4th Challenge cup trophy picked up in the last 4 years.

Bring on Play-off Weekend!!!!!!!
