Re: [Hornchurchspur] Where are you going - where did you go? ICE HOCKEY or Reply Privately

NIHL Div 1 South
MILTON KEYNES THUNDER 4 Streatham Redhawks 1
Adm. Con. £6 Prog £1

Streatham are on a bad run not helped by their small squad, as opposed to their big money opponents. MKL are in the same boat, only surviving due to crowd funding to complete the Season so perhaps a more even event with the Visitors the slight favourites.

The 1st Period saw Streatham outshoot MKL 18 to 8 but a misplaced pass intercepted on the blue line leading to a one on one and Lightening to open the scoring. Streatham did equalise but the lead was retaken with a good Goal early in the 2nd before adding a 3rd, again following a defensive error another one on one, although once again Streatham outshot 21 to 11. The 3rd saw Streatham again on the offensive and looking confident of getting something out of the Game until 53.50 when Lightening added a 4th.
This confirmed the result but for some reason on 57.45 one of the MKL Imports Trevor Leblanc decided to throw his weight about to which Rupe Quiney decided to intervene with a cross check, Penalty called but LeBlanc quickly scurried back to the Bench followed by Quiney for some verbals. LeBlanc then appeared to throw a punch from behind the bench at which point the Streatham Players on the Ice, plus the Hosts bench become involved. Result Rupe 2 mins for the check also two others both 2 mins for Roughing, plus one MKL also getting 2mins for Roughing, with LeBlanc getting a Match Penalty, just as well for him as he misses their next Game, at Streatham next Saturday, perhaps proving more French than Canadian !
Streatham again outshot 25-9 in the Period whilst Jordan Lawday in the Home Goal did have an excellent Game throughout, however with most of the Play should have got something from the Game, not many Sides outshooting 62-28 in the Match would fail to emerge Winners. Still as ever there’s always tomorrow !
