G: Ken Aston, famous English referee

Edit: Paddy, I hope you have the correct answer. I just read that you say this person wasn't responsible for any innovations as such, and that makes me think you might not have it? Wink

Not a referee so not Ken Aston Lars.

This guy wasn't responsible for innovations because he saw the main chance if you like and kinda moved things on............if you know what I mean. And stop trying to get me to give more clues to justify myself.
Although I do have to admit there's a link to Sweden, amongst other places.............Tongue

He was a last gasp Thursday guess. Didn't fit all answers but my first guess in three games Smile.

Was this person involved in the introduction/renewal/redesign of some kind of equipment/ground facility/football amenity?

Was this person connected with equipment associated with a player e.g (goalkeepers cap) as opposed to a ground e.g (a crush barrier) ?

You mean the founder of the company that by 1966 had 85% of all British clubs wearing their kit, not to mention 15 of the 16 World Cup finalists that year and have since been sponsoring the FA Cup, England, Wembley and apparently supply the Swedish National team and a number of Allsvenskan clubs plus a couple in Denmark........

BACK OF THE NET !!!!!!

Fantastic guess Paul - over to you
