Our Allsvenskan (level one) starts this weekend, earlier than perhaps ever. Earlier this week, where I live we had our first above zero days this year, which meant lots of piles of dog shit and water. The same every spring. Today the water had frozen, which meant icey streets. If you're about to visit Sweden, choose another time of year, at least if you're about to visit the middle east parts of our country.

Q: Does the person sort of have a funny name? (Did you sort of pick him/her because of the name?)

Assuming your answer regarding "funny name" is no...

G: Lars Lagerbäck, coached Sweden to several consecutive WCs/ECs, and now will coach Nigeria in the 2010 WC. Add to that his beatiful first name!

Sounds like the street I was brought up in Unsure

No, this one isn't picked for a funny name, thus not Lagerback.

You know what Paul? That has baffled me that, with citizenship. But to speed things along, I think he is a citizen as described above (he's lived under that criteria for over five years, so he may qualify) but he wasn't born in any of those areas. Make sense?

I know what you mean, T'pau. Would it help if I reworded the question to say is he eligible to play international football for a country in UK, Ireland or Scandinavia? That's pretty much what I was driving at....but if the answer to that is the same then I'll go with what you've given us so far

I don't think he is eligible to play for his resident nation, it seems unlikely that he would manage that anyway. Nor his country of birth.

That question from Paul666 generated quite a lot of answers. Just to clarify, is the following four assumptions true according to what you have said so far?
1. It's a he
2. He was not born in the country he lives in,
3. He has lived in his current country for over 5 years.
4. Most likely not skilled enough to play for either his birth country or current country

Yes, unfortunately my inexperience when I get to host these games is pretty exposed. I have let some stuff slip and all of the above is true.
