Does anyone know what date this will start next season? I've emailed the Bavarian FA but yet to have a response. I'd assume late July as I would expect this region to have a longer winter break than other areas.

Grounds: 1149. Last New Ground: The Recreation Ground, Ilminster, Somerset. Games since 0-0: 210

Thanks Tim, I'd realised that and was hoping to tie a weekend in the south with 3. Liga and Bayern. I think I'll give it a go as I assume the Austrians will be playing then anyway.

As I can't understand German I would like to know if this is something to do with the new Pyramid System the Bundesliga are introducing to the leagues below 1, 2 & 3. I believe that there will be a pyramid system based on our own system here, is that right?
I have followed the Bundesliga for a few years now and my favourite team Hertha have just done a rapid up & down movement twice.

There is a pyramid system, which is being adjusted at various levels. there are always play offs in some leagues. The Bayern play offs are decided by the Bayern FA, not nationally.

They've had a pyramid in Germany - as in most European countries - longer than we've had in England and it changes about every 5 years. I don't think it is based in any way on the English system though.

There is a play off this Saturday, ETSV Weiche v SV Holthausen-Bienne. Weiche are 3-1 up from first leg. The winner gets the final place in Regionalliga Nord.

Then for the West, the play offs appear to be
KFC Uerdingen 05 v FC Kray
SSvg Velbert v SV Lippstadt 08
SV Bergish Gladbach 09 v Wattenscheid 09

all appear to be first leg Thursday, Second leg Sunday with all matches at 15.00

I think these four matches complete the line up for Regionalliga 2012-13

VfB Hüls are also promoted to the RL West. They were the lucky side given a bye after the Mittelrheinliga champions (FC Hennef) either passed on the chance to take part in the playoffs or did not have a RL licence.
