Saint John's United will host a non-FIFA tournament on the Isle of Man from July 3rd-7th (the 5th, Tynwald Day, is a Manx bank holiday). 6 sides will play out 2 groups of 3, with the final and placement games taking place on the Sunday. The teams -

- Saint John's United (club)
- Occitània
- Alderney
- Sealand
- Tamil Eelam
- Chagos Islands or Western Sahara

The 6th team should be confirmed in the next week. The draw will take place on the Isle of Man on April 12th.

What does this mean for the Godalming tournament? Scheduled at the same time with a number of the same competing teams.

The Tynwald Hill Tournament is replacing it. Probably should have mentioned that, apologies.

Single venue tournament, or across the island?

At the moment single venue (Mullen e Cloie).

However I am thinking of talking to Saint John's about the possibility of additional grounds being used purely in case it would attract hoppers over for a day or two.

The Island Games in 2011 seemed quite popular and perhaps something similar could be set up in July, however I'm not sure if it would appeal to hoppers.

Surely all the hoppers will be in Bermuda in July for the 2013 Island Games.
Have to see if AndyG is hiring a plane direct from Purt Aer Vannin to L.F.Wade International.
Sure St Johns F C will have their campsite open at Mullen y Cloie, rates = http://stjohnsfootballclub.com/page2.htm

Very sad to announce that organising a Chagossian delegation for these dates has proved simply impossible. So, they will not travel, along with Western Sahara who have trouble obtaining visas for the UK ahead of a £300 per head flight bill from Algiers to London.

As a result Raetia will be the 6th team, meaning each side is now confirmed. The seedings will be announced on Friday ahead of the April 12th draw.

In case anyone is interested the hosts have made a tournament website http://www.tynwaldtournament.com/

St Johns United’s Mullen-e-Cloie ground will host all the fixtures and each game is set to be streamed live on the internet. The organisers have created a website which you can visit for all the information needed – www.tynwaldtournament.com.

Apologies - got the schedule and kick-off times slightly wrong. Amended below.

4th July - St Johns vs. Raetia - 2:30pm
4th July - Sealand vs. Tamil Eelam - 7:00pm

5th July - St Johns vs. Alderney - 2:30pm
5th July - Occitània vs. Sealand - 7:00pm

6th July - Alderney vs. Raetia - 2:00pm
6th July - Tamil Eelam vs. Occitània - 7:00pm

7th July - 5th-place match - 11:00am
7th July - 3rd-place match - 3:00pm
7th July - Final - 7:30pm

The Isle of Man FA are strongly interested in hosting a multi-venue VIVA World Cup next summer. Would certainly whip up some groundhopping interest.
