In the old third division in 1977-78 was the only time all five teams beginning with a 'P' were in the same division. ( Peterborough, Preston, Port Vale. Portsmouth & Plymouth)

Are Aspatria still "Spartans", giving them an impressive 5 As?

Dream teams of players whose surnames (or Brazilian nicknames) only contain one particular vowel. Who's best?

A: Kak Hamman Babb Adams Lama Blanc Platt Ball Ballack

E: Clemence (preferred to Rob Green in goal...) Pele Bremner Lee (Sammy Frannie Robert!) Best Seeler Henry Trezeguet Reeves Clement Berg Bell - shaping up nicely

I: Wilkins Rix Hill Dicks Six

O: Zoff preferred to Woods in goal... Molby (mip might say the Y's a vowel...) Woodcock Todorov Robson (Pop and Bryan) Dodds ... any O'Connors out there?

U: Rush Hulk Hurst Cruyff Hunt - goaltastic!

Nope, run out of ideas there, I know I came up with whole XIs once, but brain's melting.

That's the ticket!

Can Dave BENNETT of Coventry line up with Pele?

DIDI won 2 World Cups with Brazil. There must be some Italians for the I team too

The teams would be Aspatria Spartans (or Galatasaray), Belenenses, Rimini, Oporto and Turku - unless anyone can think of any more vowel-laden clubs.

If you accept that Y is a vowel in Welsh then Ynysybwl also fit the bill.

Although wouldn't you then have to take W as a vowel too? Great team name, though.

Of course there used to only be three vowels. That was before you and I were born.

Don't forget Umea

And as far as I know, the only club whose two names both begin with double vowels are Eendracht Aalst

Oporto is exaggerrating a bit - both club and city are called 'Porto'. Still qualifies though.

Some. brilliant ones here! Team E can also have Neeskens and Rep, and look unbeatable. Neil Orr from my Football 79 album (Morton, since you ask) can join a few Johnson variants in team O.

Sooner or later someone will start up a team called The Quick Fox Jumps over the Lazy Brown Dog FC.

Any suggestions as to what league this club could play in?

How many of the 92 do you need for a Quick Fox Jumps over the Lazy Brown Dog (excluding J,Z obviously)?

e.g.
Queens Park Rangers
Exeter City
Wolverhampton Wanderers
Fleetwood Town
Bury

Can it be done in four?

Just because you're paranoid, it doesn't mean they're not out to get you.
