Dead musicians I have seen live Can't Post or Reply Privately

With the loss of Lemmy yesterday, it got me thinking as to how many musicians I have seen live in concert, that are sadly no longer with us. Off the top of my head, and in no particular order, here's my list -

Freddie Mercury
Jon Lord
Trevor Bolder
Ronnie James Dio
Kelly Johnson
Stuart Adamson
Geoff Mann
Phil Lynott
Huw Lloyd-Langton
Steve Clark
Chris Squire
Phil Taylor
Lemmy Kilmister

Seeing as I saw my first gig 35 years ago, that's not a long list, thankfully. There could be others from obscure bands I've seen at festivals or as support, but that's all I can think of right now. I have a feeling that my list will be extended greatly over the next few years...

I'm sure there must be some of you who could add to this list.

...as opposed to dead drunk.

Can't think of many but must be a few.

Ronnie Lane
Rory Gallagher
Two thirds of the Bee Gees

plus anyone at the Weeley concert of 1971 - must be a few
who played there who've slipped off this mortal coil..

FA Vase semi programme wanted: 2001 Taunton v Clitheroe.

Also saw Ronnie Lane with the Faces and Rory Gallagher at Reading Festival back in the 70`s. Others to spring to mind would be Keith Moon and John Entwhistle of the Who, Lou Reed, Alex Harvey and Lee Brillaux from Dr Feelgood, presumably soon to be joined by Wilco Johnson who has incurable cancer. Very sad and a reminder we are all getting older.

There must be more than the couple I can think of, but they're two who both died far too young ...

Marey Hansen (Stereolab)

Carey Lander (Camera Obscura)

Less young, but just about encompassed by the term "musician", I was lucky enough to see the uniquely-talented Ivor Cutler perform in Manchester.

Bantam Cymraeg - I, like you, was at Knebworth in 1986 when both these two played the same stage. I though Big Country were excellent that day. Also, it was famously the very last time that the four original members of Queen played together.

Indeedy, BC were a fine live band. I also saw them at Reading Festival in 1983 - at the same festival was Stevie Ray Vaughan, who I've realised I missed off my original list.
