Don't get why anyone who lives in Aldgate would need a car?

Did you buy that SatNav from UK Punk? He used to have a Val Doonican one...

It's the one I had when I lived in Suffolk. If it packs up I probably wouldn't bother getting a new one. In the meantime, the only times I use it are for going back to my Dad's farm or occasional hopping where public transport is not really a viable option.

It was an old one my German ex gave me. Would love to have seen their faces when they realised they'd wasted their time.

For reasons I don't understand the missus likes the voice on our TomTom to be the Irish one. Hence Don's Val Doonican quip...Cool

I live in a part of Clacton called Holland-on-Sea which is quiet and has virtually 100% home ownership. It also has a population that is virtually 100% over the age of 40! When the missus and I moved here from the rougher Great Clacton three years ago an elderly neighbour remarked, "It's nice to have some young blood in the street". We're in our 50's! Sly

Punky. You in your 50s !!!! You don't look a day over 30.

Anyway, if you came down to this part of the world the main crime are foreign gentlemen becoming very interested in farm or council vehicles at weekends.

A Carmarthenshire council digger was found in Romania only two weeks ago

Did the council worker take the wrong turning onto the M4 and wondered why he was on a boat / train many hours later?.

To be fair to who ever nicked it that's quite a feat, not easiest thing to conceal in your hand luggage.

Fascinating story - do you have a link for it, I'd like to read more.

When I googled it all I got was a 404 webpage not found from the only result that seemed to link to it.

There is plenty of on-street parking in the area, thankfully almost all limited to residents.

Re: [UKPunk] is your area rough ? [In reply to] Can't Post or

When I went out this morning there was a car with at least two flat tyres in the road that my private drive comes out on to. The RAC where there and were changing them so I presume they had been slashed. I have noted the residents in that road have recently been parking their cars partly on the pavement as a number had been damaged by passing vehicles. Though the moral of the story is those houses have the same access as I have via the private drive but most of the residents are just to lazy to use it and also to lazy to keep their back gates in a sound state of repair with many choosing to do away with said gates and replace them with a solid fence instead.

Moved to Margate a few months back and it has it's rougher parts particularly around Cliftonville and the southern east edges of the town down in the valley.

Saying that i have lived most of my life around SE London so this is Toytown in comparison!

Jings, I remember staying in a B&B at Cliftonville for the summer holidays when I was about 5. Caught chickenpox.

It was so good we went back the next year and I caught measles.

Good times.

jaywick from that c5 benefits programme !

We have friends who own a care company and have a second home in Spain. They live in a big house with a separate games room and bar attached. They live in Jaywick. The area covered by the programme is in a part of Jaywick called Brooklands and it is indeed very run down. Other parts of Jaywick however are nothing of the sort.

But of course the 'honest' media wouldn't want the truth to get in the way of a good story, would they?
