Groundhoppers Stories of Queen Street, Bilston. Can't Post or Reply Privately

Hello guys.

I have been asked by the chairman of Bilston Town football club to compile a book of fan stories about their memories of the club and I thought it would also be great to get any stories or memories from groundhoppers who have been to Queen Street Stadium to watch their clubs play Bilston Town over the years. We are looking to collect a fans perspective of being at Queen Street ahead of the 100th anniversary of the club playing their (2019), from over many years, for posterity.

I would like to invite any of you who have made the trip with your team to Queen Street and share your thoughts, memories and stories. All stories and memories, no matter how big or small they may be, will be collected together and used to try and build a picture of Bilston as a non league football club and it’s fans and visitors point of view about it.

Below is a copy of the ‘press release’ the club is issuing requesting people’s memories:

The History Of Bilston Town FC – The Sequel !

Following the success of The History Of Bilston Town FC, Author, Jay Hearst has accepted our invite to compile a second book. We are looking for memories, anecdotes, stories, most memorable games etc etc, from players – current and former – supporters, ex managers and/or committee members – former and present.

Ultimately, we want your stories. How you were first introduced to Bilston Town FC, those first impressions, why you maintain that affinity for the club, greatest players you recall, best goal, dodgiest refereeing decision! Furthest you travelled to watch them.
Were you there when Bilston lifted a trophy, as player, manager or supporter.

Groundhoppers, what is your memory/impression from visiting Queen Street?

Our aim is to obtain as many stories or anecdotes or memories as possible, compile and collate them, then publish them, giving as concise a reason as possible, as to why this football club is so special and retains such a special place for so many people.
Please, get your thinking caps on, and let us have your thoughts and memories as to why Bilston Town FC is such a special place to play or watch your football.

Email your memory, anecdote or story to either of the addresses above, and together let’s get this book written!”

Contact details are as above, I hope you take part and I look forward to reading all of your stories and memories.

All my best wishes to you and your teams,

Jay Hearst.
