RL leaves itself open to condemnation from all fronts with the set of scenarios on offer and if Trinity take the road of voluntary relegation then I hope it backfires on them.

Have to wonder why they are only planning a 10k capacity.

Not talking about a massive stadium and the current average suggests that they have it right with the new build but who can tell what is around the corner and they certainly have the room to bang another 5k on top.

With franchising seemingly looming further delays could have very serious ramifications for Wakefield. With more North American outfits looming and Leigh (plus the odd rumbling about London) all sitting outside the current Superleague it must be odds on franchising, if it arrives, will cost one or two teams their superleague place.

Well the ball is firmly in the Trinity court and they know what the cost could be with all this faffing about.

Not sure that franchising is "looming" but the threat of such things cannot be ignored and I'm sure certain clubs are well aware or it so houses need to be put in order and lets leave all this talk of seeking legal action on other matters for another day.

The RFL have told teams there may well be a restructuring ahead of the 2019 season. It is known that franchising is / has been considered and the feeling within the game is that it will return sooner rather than later.

We shall see.

You need to understand the reasons for abandoning franchises a few seasons ago, presumably there is a reason?

Is there more interest in RL now that we have promotion / relegation? I don't know. One way is to see how each club has faired with attendances before and after the last set of changes. I say each club, rather than total Super League attendances as the demise of Bradford would have an impact on the average.

If I was a Wakefield resident and council tax payer then I would be very annoyed that the council would be willing to spend millions of pounds building a sporting facility with no high profile tenant and thus no regular source of income.

Wakefield Council will be well aware of this. It's being done to force Trinity into talks and to be honest they don't seem a million miles apart. Get it sorted because everybody wins.

And sorted it has been with Trinity staying put and stadium redevelopment now going ahead.

It is reported that Trinity have purchased the freehold of the Stadium and some of the surrounding area.
Seems likely that they intend to redevelop Belle Vue.
