Mitchell Joseph (St. Joseph's, Swansea) Can't Post or Reply Privately

Already mentioned in the Matches Off thread but feel he deserves to be remembered in this section.

Mitchell Joseph, 32, was playing for St Joseph's FC in the Swansea Senior League last Saturday when he collapsed on the pitch.

He was taken to Morriston Hospital after both sets of players tried to help on the pitch following the first half incident but later died.

All matches in the Swansea Senior League this weekend have been postponed as a mark of respect.

Mitchell Joseph, 32, was playing for St. Joseph's in the Swansea Senior League against local rivals Malsters Sports at Mynydd Newydd on Saturday 13th January 2018 when he keeled over in the goalmouth after about 30 minutes of the first half.

Teammates and opponents rushed to give C.P.R. and he was taken to the city's Morriston Hospital but later died.

Joseph started his career at the club because of his grandfather's involvement and returned this season.

The Welsh Ambulance Service said two rapid response vehicles and an ambulance were sent shortly after 3p.m. The Wales Air Ambulance also attended but was not needed.

All Swansea senior league games for Saturday 20th January have been called off.

Fans attending Swansea City’s home match against Liverpool on Monday 22nd January will be asked to raise money to help his family and fiancée Laura Davies.

Joseph, who lived at Pwll Street in Landore, underwent open heart surgery for a leaking valve eight months ago after a heart murmur was discovered in 2011. Consequently he could not obtain a life assurance policy.
