Winter Olympics Can't Post or Reply Privately

What a shot from Eve Muirhead to get the Scottish women (oops UK) into the semi-finals! Needing to beat the mighty Canada and they did. The first time Canada has failed to reach the semis.

Well done.

I struggle somewhat, to have any interest in the Winter Olympics, it's probably one step above Gridion for me.

Nevertheless, rather the British win than anyone else.

Thank goodness for Eurosport since the BBC seems to be obsessed with ice dancing and no-hoper Brits. And talking about events rather than showing them.

The Biathlon events are brilliant and get no BBC coverage!

Never thought

a) I'd be cheering on Americans as underdogs, or

b) getting that excited about cross-country skiing,

but that women's "sprint" relay was something else this morning.

Apart from another spectacular flop by some Scottish skater and a bunch of American bobsleighers trying to kid us they're Nigerian, the whole thing has passed me by. For those two stories alone, though, we should definitely keep the license fee! Laugh

Whilst I quite enjoy the summer olympics this Winter Olympics doesnít hold any interest for me whatsoever. Itís down to the sports just being so far removed from my life. I canít imagine myself ever going skiing let alone trying bobsleigh or curling.

Three years living in the States does that! You for one will understand how easy it is to slip into the local vernacular instead of Queen's English.

I simply enquired what you had achieved given you were so dismissive of someone who has achieved a lot.

if you don't wish to answer ...

Much as you'd like to start lording it again, what I've accomplished in my personal and professional life is no concern of yours and of no relevance to this thread.

Your lassie flopped on the big stage. Again. Live with it.

LOL!

As they say in courts of law, we're entitled to draw our own conclusions.

Bizarre. What's your point? Since when has commenting on sporting failure been restricted to those who have achieved sporting success?
