Montrose Roselea leaving Broomfield Park? Can't Post or Reply Privately

According to a post elsewhere from a club official, Montrose Roselea are hoping to leave Broomfield Park at the end of the season in order to ground-share with Montrose FC at Links Park.

They did so for many years before moving to Broomfield in the 1980s.

Montrose Roselea's last home game of the season is Tuesday 22nd May. They cannot now get sucked into the relegation playoff with the extra Home game that that would have brought.
I asked on another forum, and got this clarity from a club official :

"The game is at Broomfield Park on Tuesday 22nd at 7.30pm and there will be a Programme as per all home games.

As far as Links Park goes there have been long ongoing discussions which have been delayed due to Montrose FC having their eye on something else for the last few months. A proposal has all but been agreed but needs to be put to all involved with the club before a yes or no can be made. The NRJFA have been made aware and it was discussed at one of the Management Meetings and the feedback from there has been positive. It would be proposed to trial this for a year to make sure it works for all parties including the NRJFA. Broomfield Park would eventually be handed over to the Amateur & Youth set up but Roselea would retain the right to play there in the event of fixture clashes eg Scottish Cup/local cup games. Roselea hope to have this tied up this week and will make an official announcement in due course but it makes a lot of sense as well as providing a great surface & facility for visiting teams to play on."

I would actually expect that in the event of any such cup clashes, Roselea would play theirs on the Friday night at Links Park. So anybody who still needs Broomfield Park as a Juniors venue should make the effort to attend on Tuesday, as I know a number of you are already planning.

Do Roselea have thoughts about going senior, whether to the Highland or Lowland league?

At risk of polluting this thread with pyramid talk, see the table in the "Bonnyrigg Rose next to go senior?" thread which shows Roselea were amongst the many Junior clubs who voted Yes to being in favour of a pyramid, and to be alongside EOSL/SOSL rather than to be alongside HFL/LFL.

A more pertinent Q would have been : do the Highland League have thoughts about admitting anybody from below into their closed shop? Answer : No.

It's only a couple of years since Roselea got dispensation to leave the East Juniors to join the North Juniors. They did so partly to reduce costs as most of their players were from north of Montrose. They also thought, wrongly, that they might skoosh it and get into the Scottish Cup. In principle they voted in favour of a pyramid but I suspect they would run a million miles if there was ever any prospect of being promoted to the Highland League.

Not much of a commitment to the pyramid there then.
