Just checked this Saturday's Treharris v Bridgend St game. The Treharris Twitter contact said that the 1st team are alternating between Fochriw, Taff's Well and Ystrad Mynach. This week they are at Taff's Well. The reserves and youth teams are permanently based at Fochriw.

From Treharris's programme today;

"Following a safety inspection by the local council, our playing days at this, the oldest ground in South Wales football are over. Whilst this was to have been the last season at the ground, we had hoped to have a special farewell game to close the ground.
It is hoped that the new ground will be completed in time for the 2017-18 season.
In the meantime we will become nomads, playing on grounds in Taffs Well, Ystrad Mynach and Fochriw, with the seconds playing the remaining team fixtures at The Welfare Ground, Fochriw."

Pretty sure that the Welsh League had deliberately scheduled them for all away games until October. They are due to be home on September 1st in the Welsh Cup, so it'll be interesting to see where they play that.

Is that the same site as I would have watched Trelewis play on in 2008 - third game of a hop, having also been to Fochriw

It's certainly Trelewis Welfare's old ground. Treharris have also used it previously for pre-season friendlies.

I have seen Trelewis on two hops, and both grounds I have listed as Parc Taff, Bargoed!!
I have cross-checked these with the Traveller directories for the specific seasons, and both are listed as such.
For once I am happy to rely on my memory that they were two separate grounds.
First game was 25/8/06, 3-3 versus Graig. The coach was parked miles away at the top of a steep bank, as Ian J with a bad back will testify.
Second was 23/8/08 versus Bargoed Redz, 0-1 - remember this as being a social centre type place, where it p***ed down for most of the game; was our fourth of the day ( one at Pontyclun which you probably had already visited).

My guess if Treharris play at the old (former)ground, then the answer to your question is 'no'.

Re: [noprogs] Treharris's ground [In reply to] Can't Post or Reply Privately

My earlier visit to Trelewis was way back in 1985 and I listed it as the Welfare Ground
My visit to Treharris was a year earlier, and they then played at Commercial Terrace - Trelewis were the visitors
There is also a Bargoed Park on my list, the home ground of AFC Bargoed Redz, the visitors to Trelewis in 2008.
My understanding from all this is that Treharris now play on the ground that Trelewis opened in 2008

My records show the 2006 game at Welfare Park, Brondgeg, Trelewis and the 2008 one at Parc Taff Bargoed, Bontnewydd Terrace, Treleis if that helps.
