Clyde FC's Barrowfield Park Can't Post or Reply Privately

Hello,

Anyone know where I can find a picture of Clyde FC's earlier ground at Barrowfield Park (1877-1898).

Thanks

Dave

Not sure if you can get a picture/photo from around the dates you mentioned but you should be able to get OS maps from a main library, which might also be a good place to search for newspaper articles from between those dates which might have a picture.

Anyone know where I can find a picture of Clyde FC's earlier ground at Barrowfield Park (1877-1898). ========================================== Best of British , that is a poser for our North of the border experts. ------------------------------------------------------ ''The first of these was Barrowfield Park, which was situated on the banks of the River Clyde. Sitting on the edge of Bridgeton, Barrowfield Park lay in a triangle of land enclosed by Carstairs Street, Colvend Street and the river Clyde. The area was an intense mix of chemical, engineering and textile works with a high population density to provide the labour. Although no stadium photographs have emerged it appears the ground consisted of a grand stand running north-south, a pavilion and tennis courts at the southern end and a bicycle track surrounding the pitch.''

0-0's are standing at 19. Good run (19) until tonight 22 / 06.

Screen shots attached of 1896 (present) and 1913 (gone) OS maps (1:2500) of the area. Not much detail of the stadium, even at that scale.
