Re: [AndrewG] Grounds for concern - Rugby Union or Reply Privately

Ayr are to leave Millbrae within two years. The two-pitch Alloway venue, home to the Ayr club since 1965, is being sold to a housing developer. Subject to rubber-stamping by South Ayrshire Council, Ayr are moving back into town, to Dam Stadium, one of four venues at which they have played previously. The existing Dam Stadium, a fairly cheerless athletics track, will be demolished and a new stadium - with training facilities and a plastic pitch, to act also as a rugby union hub for the Ayr district - built on the site. Apparently, the Scottish Rugby Union is chipping in a substantial amount.
