Walking down a street, someone walking on the same side in the opposite direction. That person crosses over to avoid walking past you.

I don't look like a fiend or an attacker, really annoys me!!

Hm, you sure? Tongue

It may be that lots of fiends and attackers don't actually look like fiends or attackers until they're fiendishly attacking.

I suppose you could try wearing a really big badge that says "I am a not a violent nutter". Make it hi vis with flashing lights. That should reassure them you're normal.

What about cyclists outside of London who jump red lights?

Mountain bikers and walkers seem to to exist in perfect harmony around here.

Idiots using motorbikes where they shouldn't are another matter although the police are very proactive in dealing with such issues

Cyclists

Why? They're not all lycra louts

No, but far too many of them have never taken, never mind passed, a cycle proficiency test and don't know the laws of the road. I'm not being 'anti-cyclist' here as I cycle myself occasionally, but I'm often embarrassed by the ineptitude of many cyclists.

For example, a couple of weeks ago I was driving the lad back from Colchester from a car park in Priory Street. It's a one way street but I had to avoid a cyclist going the wrong way up it!

As both a cyclist and a driver I like to think I can see both sides, on the subject of one way streets I was driving down one locally and was suprised to find a car coming towards me. I pointed out to the error to the lady driver who replied "oh sorry, I'm not from around here", funny but I though no entry signs had the same meaning everywhereCrazy?

Drivers illegally using phones and those who cannot be bothered to indicate really annoy me. Taxi/minicab drivers are another source of annoyance to me, although I accept that they're not all bad, but anybody who has encountered Addison Lee drivers will know what I meanMad

Posters who ruin the moderator's European tour by posting messages designed to annoy each other, and then run complaining to said moderator about the other party. Two of these are liable to be banned from the forum within the next couple of days. Say goodbye now.

Also, people (including moderators) who refer to themselves in the third person.

Pedestrians walking their mutts on cycle paths, with those mutts either on 50 feet long leads or not on leads at all.

I can honestly say that ive never come across the act of a cyclist blatantly flaunting the laws of the road in broad daylight and putting thier own lives in danger outside of London (where it is in epidemic proportions). Im sure other parts of England are no lost alysum of responsible cyclists but in London they are particularity poor, not all, just the vast majority.

Cyclists and public rights of way certainly do not go together round my neck of the woods, there is a country park of sorts, I wouldnt call it country myself but to some it is - where sad fat middle aged men mistakenly think it is a Mountain and at the same time mistakenly think it is theirs. The letters to the local rag are frequent aswell as entertaining in regards to the traditional biped users of FOOTpaths having to jump out the way for those tossers who who think its cool to dress like an alien.

Motorbikes being used in fields and such like is the most horrendous thing a person can do, bare chested and tracksuit bottoms along with a pit bull looking on seem to be the must have accessories. even the most compassionate human cant help but really want them to fall of and die - at least the grieving family will get 250 from Youv'e been framed.

Another thing ive thought whilst thinking of above mentioned not-country park is people who put dog turds in those little bags and then throw it in a hedge - why go to the effort and trauma of putting the turd in a bag if your going to litter? Just let your dog sh1t in the hedge and let nature take its course with the biodegradable matter that is dog sh1t FFS! instead we have to suffer a small plastic bag dangling like horrid xmas decorations because some egit cant be @rsed to put fowlings in a bin but bizarrely CAN be @rsed to bend down and handle warm shit!.

Rants over.

As a pedestrain it's part of the 'Oxford city centre initiation process' to be run down by a cyclist followed by an exchange of swear words and gestures! Been there, done that, got the t-shirt!

Probably walking on the cycle path as the cyclists are using the designated footpath.
There seem to be a large number of cyclists who are not familiar with paragraph 64 of the Highway Code which indicates YOU MUST NOT CYCLE ON THE FOOTPATH.

I was critical of Radio 5 earlier in this thread but it was a model of professionalism then. Since its recent makeover following its 20th birthday 'celebrations' (a typical BBC smugfest) it's gone further downhill.

In the last minute of a programme, just before the hour, some presenters tell us what's coming up in the news and spend only slightly less time doing so than does the news announcer in reading it. The bulletins often include a short and pointless soundbite or extract from an interview which simply repeats what the announcer has told us about the story e.g announcer: "Mr Smith said the company must improve its safety procedures"; Mr Smith: "The company must improve its safety procedures." Some of the sidekicks (sports, travel news etc) sound like they've only just learnt to speak English as they stumble their way through a script (they should learn their trade on local radio). The whole chaotic mess is punctuated by self-advertising which is even louder than before and consists mostly of screaming sports commentary.

I just want a quick news and sports bulletin on the hour, FGS. Radio 2?

1/ Fly tipers. I guess the sort of people who do this have no respect for themselves let alone the countryside or people who want to enjoy it, grrr.

2/ Throwing rubbish out of car window/s, as above, lowlife.

3/ Football reporters who refer to a league game as a 'tie'. Errr, no, a Cup tie, but a league match as a tie, that is just wrong.

4/ Children. Well, not specifically children, although I honestly don't like them, but more so 'modern parents', who seem incapable of keeping them under control in public places. No discipline, no raised words, just let them run amok, and let others have to suffer their offsprings noise etc.
Just this weekend, a 5/6 year old, in a chip shop with his dad. Loud, rude, etc, but nothing from the dad apart from a grin, like, let's just let my little precious jonny do what the hell he likes, grrr.

2019-20 - 22 games, last Long Crendon 15/9, goals 63, avgpg 2.86, new grounds 7. Last - Mossley 14/9.
New Grounds in 2019 - 20. 2018 - 44. 2017 -44. Grounds in Total - 1213.
RL Grounds - 34 (Last - Craven Park, Barrow - 8/9/19), Speedway Tracks 50.
