Yes it went ahead last week because we played on their 3G Astroturf pitch. Highlights are here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0N3Q7phdXM8

I'm not sure if any of the other 7 games will get played tomorrow. The pitches round our way (Enfield/Broxbourne Councils) were all called off waterlogged on Friday for this weekend, so that could be the case elsewhere in London.

An injury time own goal, harsh!! Good thinking on the use of astro turf though.

Middlesbrough v Woodford Wanderers is scheduled to go ahead tomorrow as planned, unless there's a torrential downpour overnight, a lot of the other games in West London were called off on Thursday and Friday.

We have been lucky in three of our four matches so far.
London Maccabi Lions should have been 2 or 3 goals up at Half-Time. We were the better side in the Second Half but we didn't deserve that winner to be honest.

Their No.7 (Sam Arghebant) was quality and ran the show. Must have played Semi-Pro somewhere I would imagine ?

If you can't be good, be lucky. That's how you win cup competitions. Judging by your previous 4th round summary, Seven Acre and Sidcup and Burnt Oak Builders look like the two most likely teams to be contesting the final.

Inter Trac beat Danson Albion 'B' 2-0.

Burnt Oak Builders Merchants v CFC Flamengo and White Hart Lane v. Kenningwell United Reserves were both postponed again and are now scheduled for Sunday 10th February.

I have no idea if Sandmere v. Poplar Boys, Seven Acre & Sidcup v. Asianos and Guzelyert v. Maronites were played today as none of the Leagues those teams play in put their County Cup results on their websites.
We'll have to wait for the London FA to update their own results/fixtures page later in the week.

All the Fourth Round matches have now been completed and the only one I got wrong in my predictions was White Hart Lane v. Kenningwell United Reserves. I said White Hart Lane might sneak it with Home advantage, but Kenningwell won 5-2.
The other matches played yesterday were Sandmere 1 Poplar Boys 5 and CFC Flamengo 1 Burnt Oak Builders Merchants 4.

The Quarter-Finals (to be played this Sunday 17th February) are therefore as follows:
Middlesbrough Supporters South v. Edmonton Rovers
2.00.p.m. Kick-Off at the Kings House Sports Ground, Riverside Drive, Chiswick W4 2RZ (on Civil Service First XI's pitch)
Guzelyert v. Burnt Oak Builders Merchants
Hackney Marshes 2.00.p.m. Kick-Off ?
Seven Acre & Sidcup 'A' v. Kenningwell United Reserves
Inter Trac v Poplar Boys

Not sure about the venues for the last two, but I think they are 10.30.a.m. Kick-Offs

I am not going to predict anything this time. They are all too close to call !

Well as I thought Boro would win their quarter final comfortably. Maybe the APFSCIL league isn't as low a standard as the Edmonton video man suggested?

Unless other teams from the APFSCIL apart from the current League Champions enter every year, we won't really know that, will we ? Unsure

Today's Quarter-Final results:
Middlesbrough Supporters South 8 v 1 Edmonton Rovers
Guzelyert 3 v 1 Burnt Oak Builders Merchants
Seven Acre & Sidcup 3 v 2 (AET) Kenningwell United Reserves
Inter Trac 3 v 2 Poplar Boys

Our keeper had a 'mare' today. We were 4-0 down after 21 minutes and 7-1 down at Half-Time. Middlesbrough had just 8 shots on target in the First Half ! It was brilliant finishing, and they are the best side we have played so far in that respect. We deserved to lose, but not by such a margin. I know they had a few ex-Pros and Semi-Pros playing, but as I am not familiar with the Northern Non-League scene, I dont know who was who.
Video highlights will be online later in the week. At least one of our keeper's howlers (their 6th goal) might make me a bit of money !? Wink

Good luck to Middlesbrough Supporters away to Seven Acre & Sidcup in the Semis. They clearly have a decent chance of winning the competition with that sort of firepower. (They won 7-1 in the last round against a half-decent team).

Aberdeen and ourselves enter every year, though I accidentally entered us in the Senior Cup last year but they demoted us to the intermediate. We were unfortunate to get knocked out last season against Hendon Sports Club as my Son was born the night before so I missed the game which put us down to 11 men. Then our centre half got a career ending knee injury after 20 minutes when we were 2-0 up so had to play the remainder of the game with 10men. Hendon got a last minute equaliser and extra time was too much for the team and they scored 2 in extra time. Thought I'd try us in the Junior Cup this year and its been a good experience.

As you say, we seemed to score with every shot we had in the first half and your keeper had a nightmare. You're a decent team though with a good team spirit, maybe just lack at either end of the pitch with your keeper and a top drawer striker. You were a step above Woodford Wanderers who spent half the match arguing between themselves, which actually became a bit embarrassing! The Supporters league is a decent league, Division One is a pretty good standard with ourselves, Aberdeen, Celtic, Hibs and Exeter all very capable. Division Two is pretty average.

Possibly not surprising that the home teams all won, travelling definitely plays a key part. We don't have any ex pros on our books other than Marlon Beresford who's only played once in the last year. In fact, 2 of our lads hadn't even played 11-a-side until 2 seasons ago!

Thanks for the kind wishes, much appreciated, a good bunch of lads you've got there, good luck for the rest of the season.

Thanks for the compliments LisbonLegend.

Yes, our lads did say they felt tired after the travelling. It took us well over an hour to get there. Also the 2.00.p.m. Kick-Off had an effect, as we are used to playing our League matches in the mornings.
Most of our players normally go to sleep on Sunday afternoons...and most of our defenders certainly were asleep in the First Half. Wink
We also played badly when we travelled for hours to get to Mitcham in the Third Round, but much better when we only had to go to Hackney in the First Round and Borehamwood in the last round. We were at Home in the Second Round and our opponents Bromley Knights were lethargic from the travelling for that one. I'm sure that was why we beat them, as they were one of the favourites for this competition.

Our keeper has actually been playing well this season and we had only conceded one goal in our four London Cup matches before today's game. We badly missed our Captain (midfield holding player) who was out with a broken hand, but we still had enough good players playing to have given you a closer game.
Your guys moved the ball into shooting positions quickly and we didn't. That was the main difference.
I haven't edited the video yet, but we probably had about 60% of the possession and about 10 corners to your none, but that counts for nothing if we don't shoot enough.

Travelling is certainly something I'm wary of with a 10:30am kick off in Sidcup which looks a nightmare to get to. We might have to stay over in a hotel...

To be honest, it was something I noticed from watching your videos, you try and pass and move the ball about, you're quite a solid disciplined team but you don't get enough players forward in to key areas or move it forward quickly enough, you tend to play around teams rather than really hurt them. It was a bit like watching the Boro! Though today you got a few forward early on but had no real width and your centre backs got stretched as a result which gave us a few opportunities, was a strange end to end first half. I wasn't totally sure what formation you were playing when we got to half time....

That was a big mistake our Manager made. He went 3-1-4-2 instead of 4-4-2 (which we played last week when we beat a good side in a League Cup match). Although it has worked for us in the past, we had the wrong players playing in our back three and they didn't mark up properly. It didn't help that our keeper was sulking after his first minute booking and then conceding from the resulting free-kick. He should have been calling the defenders but didn't say a word for the rest of the half. He nearly went home at Half-Time...and he would have done if we had had another keeper on the bench !
His grumble about that first-minute incident was that he threw the ball out of the area to drop-kick it, but the Referee gave the free-kick from 50 yards away when the neutral Linesmen on our side should have made the decision. The Lino said he didn't see it though because the sun was in his eyes ! Our keeper always takes his drop-kicks by throwing the ball forward out of his area while he is still standing in his area...being careful that his hand is not still on the ball as it goes over the line, then kicking it when it is outside the area. Most Referees (including the one we had today) give a free-kick because they assume that as it was kicked outside the area, the ball must have been tossed up outside the area for the drop-kick.

You are right about the wind (behind you in the First Half). As soon as the Second Half kicked off, it stopped completely !

Chiswick to Sidcup is indeed a difficult journey, although it will be easier in the morning. You have just got to get used to getting up early...like we do. Good luck with that one. It's not easy ! Wink

Ah, so that's the formation you were playing, it was baffling me. Unfortunately, it left your back 3 cruelly exposed as our wide men had acres to run in to unchallenged but then when you went forward you'd have 4 men up top pushing on our back line. We did have a few corners in the 2nd half I believe, as I was in the box for them, unless my mind is playing tricks on me and they were free kicks.

Yes, you're keeper did lose his marbles and he wasn't particularly complimentary about Northerners at one point, which is odd as we're a lovely bunch of folk.Angelic

I'm used to getting up early as I have a 1 year old who gets up at 06:30am every morning, it's the long distance travelling and then playing football in the morning I'll have a problem with. I live in Ealing which is even further away from Sidcup, I'm sure it'll be a great experience but I'll be pleased to get back to my afternoon kick offs!

That will have been a wind-up comment aimed more at himself, as he is from Stoke. (I presume Stoke is classed more as 'Northern' than Midlands ?)
He shouts out 'Oh you useless Northern c***' at himself at least once every match...usually after he has just sliced one of his own drop-kicks out of play. Laugh

Wow... A bit of a surprising result the 8-1...

As for ourselves we actually played away in East London, we play at Chalk Lane, Cockfosters FC but our pitch was deemed unplayable as it was waterlogged aparently. I can't remember much rain last week but i reckon the groundsmen was probably just trying to preserve their pitch.

Our game was a close affair, we went down twice and scored a winner in the last minute. It was a proper away game for our boys, they had alot of support so we done well to win.

Burnt Oak apparently missed tons of chances today and felt ideas just one of them days.

Guzelyert will be a tough game for us judging by Burnt Oaks report.

I knew LisbonLegend was from a club still in the competition... Good Result
