So, if Bodmin win on the 5th, Ipswich Wanderers will have two days to organise a trip across the whole width of the country.

I assume their players will have to book off Friday 8th as holiday from work to cover this eventuality.

They would probably have to leave Ipswich before 6.00am if they were to travel by coach on the Saturday!

I'm sure the FA wouldn't care about that though!

As an Ipswich Wanderers supporter to say I'm not too happy about the situation is an understatement. Forget the logistics for a moment, my concern is that it puts us at a distinct disadvantage for the tie.

We have no choice but to leave Friday, Bodmin on a coach is a 9hr journey.

This should have been sorted out weeks ago. Reverse fixture? Neutral ground? A bye for Bodmin as Welton have been unable to accommodate the fixture in an acceptable timeframe? What happens if Tuesday's game is unplayable?

I'm not too happy about the current situation either as a Bodmin supporter, the tie has become an absolute joke and really needs to be moved to a 3G pitch as I can't see it going ahead at Welton on Tuesday night and not sure if Bodmin's pitch would be ready if needed on Saturday with the current weather.

Have already made two trips to Bath only for the game to be called off both times having already been there several hours.

Logistically now we probably have to try and reschedule our Cornwall Senior Cup game away to Step 7 Mousehole which can only be moved to a Saturday unless it is switched to Bodmin as Mousehole have no floodlights as well as a league fixture.

It's an absolute farce.

Are they sticking with Welton's ground for Saturday? Surely after four attempts this should be played at a different ground.

This is not helping our (Ipswich Wanderers) season at all, we're running behind on our league schedule and this will be the second weekend an away fixture has been postponed. It's going to be a very busy final third of the season!

At the moment according to the FA Vase fixtures page and the Western League website the tie will still be at Welton's ground for Saturday.

Completely agree it should be at a different ground.

Newton Aycliffe vs Atherton Collieries postponed for the fifth time (with another rearranged date in between because of the Northern League not allowing the Vase to take priority). Trying again on Tuesday 12th Jan. Might get to April before the FA decide to switch it to Colls or a neutral venue.

There should be a rule that the venue switches after so many postponements.

Colls are being treated ridiculous over this.

NL pretty much do whatever they want anyway. God help you if you cross Amos and his cronies. Though I must admit, seeing all their faces when Chaddy knocked out Benfield was brilliant.

Welton v Bodmin due to be played on Tuesday. Judging by the rain again at the moment and how saturated this whole area is then it's got to be doubtful.

Really good draw this, tie 1 means a south west v south east tie which don't seem to happen very often. Tie 2 is a classic north v south tie as yes I'm aware Sleaford is probably classed as the Midlands!

Ties 3 and 4 are more good South v North ties, though it seems doubtful either will be played on the 30th. Berkhamsted will undoubtedly have the biggest test, three very strong Northern League sides all with big average crowds. Whoever wins out of those three is likely to be more than capable of beating Berkhamsted.

Tie 5 is interesting, rare to see an NCEL side get this far. It seems quite a kind draw to Cleethorpes too, I think they'll come through it.

Tie 6 could be Salisbury's first real test although I think they will come through

Tie 7 is yet another South v North/Midlands tie. Not clean cut as to which 2 sides will actually play each other. I don't think there is a real side out of those four.

Tie 8, I think whoever wins out of Hereford/Leicester Nirvana should go and win at Hartley & Whitney or Bradford Town.

I see you have already written off Ipswich Wanderers chances of progress then!

Mind you, I'm beginning to doubt that they will ever get to travel west. Their players would have run out of holiday enitlement from work by the time they are actually needed to travel west!

Latest on the 3rd round ties is that if they're not played on Tuesday, they must be rescheduled on Wednesday. If that's off too, then they're set for Thursday. Then if that too is not possible it's Saturday at an alternative venue.

Players with full time jobs (mostly) and family lives.

I entirely agree, Richard

If there is no realistic prospect of playing in the immediate future, then there are plenty of 3G pitches, Welton for example could go to Oaklands Park, which is close enough.

Or, as in the Sunday Cup, switch venues so Welton have to go to Bodmin
