Aylesbury United Vs ???????? Windsor FC lodge appeal after Flackwell Heath semi-final defeat
Windsor FC look set to line up against Aylesbury in the Berks & Bucks Senior Trophy final despite losing their semi-final in dramatic fashion against Flackwell Heath last week.
The Heathens thought they had booked their spot in the final last Wednesday when an injury-time winner from Jon Case sealed a thrilling 3-2 win.
But the Advertiser has learned that the Heathens fielded an ineligible player during the game when they started with goalkeeper Craig Garrett.
The shot stopper has a dual registration with Harefield and he played for them against AFC Hayes in the Middlesex County Senior Cup on December 4.
That meant he was cup-tied from last Wednesday's semi-final but Flackwell were unaware of this and he played the whole 90 minutes at Stag Meadow.
Since then Windsor have lodged an appeal with the Berks & Bucks FA and depending on the outcome, they could be reinstated in the competition.
Boss Micky Woodham says the matter is out of his hands but he would be willing to replay the game if needed.
He said:"I know that there has been a protest lodged about their keeper and that he was cup-tied.
"From my point of view it was an honest admin error, where it goes from here I don't know.
"Morally I would like to offer them (Flackwell) a replay but we all know football is not steeped in moral history so I don't know what will happen.
"I would like an answer one way or the other by the end of the week, I think that's only fair to both sides."
The Windsor boss added:"If the Berks & Bucks FA say you are awarded the game then obviously we will take that.
"But if we can sort out a replay and we get the permission to do that, I'm sure we would.
"It would give us the chance to redeem ourselves and Flackwell a chance to rewrite a wrong.
"I'm a fair man, I would have no issue in playing the game again."

This one gets better. Apparently Windsor have also
. Jason Sheehan turned out as a sub for Chalfont St Peter in an earlier round.
My question now is regarding the Flackwell Keeper, whose only "offence " was turning out for Harefield Utd in the
Cup. Have I been missing something about County Cups all this time I've been supporting Northwood, or is this specific to the Berks & Bucks FA?
Northwood, Threave Rovers, Arsenal, Rangers (the real ones, NOT qpr),Watford, Rochdale, queen of the south and a few others.
