It should be a derby Can't Post or Reply Privately

I see there was a Carling Cup tie between Southampton and Northampton this week.

Now obviously that should be a local derby but....

Any other fixtures around that look/sound like a derby but aint?!

AFC x v AFC y

"They'll be dancing in the streets of AFC tonight!"

Incidentally, in "New Tricks" the Alun Armstrong character (purportedly a supporter of AFC Wimbledon) has often referred to the team as "good old AFC", or "come on AFC", or some such. I may be wrong, but I ***strongly*** suspect that no AFC Wimbledon supporter has ever referred to their team as such.

Found this the other day: http://en.wikipedia.org/.../Gillingham_Town_F.C.

And it wasn't until recently I discovered there are more than one place called Newcastle, and that the Newcastle clubs weren't necessarily from the same town.

Out of interest - does anyone know where Northwood Town gets its name from - there's certainly no town called Northwood in the county! Theres a tiny village called Northwood, but why they've appended Town on the end of their name seems bizarre!

So Mr. Miller writes in Tiverton's Histry almanac, the press reported that we face Poulton in the FA Amateur Cup "rather that the more accessible Paulton".

Poulton Victoria have folded. You could replace them with Poulton Town (West Lancashire).
