Cheshire have survived an F.A. enquiry in to an allegation that their 92nd minute substitute v Lincolnshire was suspended at the time

The kick-off time for the semi-final has now been changed to 7p.m. to accommodate Cheshire flying in that morning.

Saturday 31st March 2012 - F.A. Inter-League Cup Semi-Final

Jersey Football Combination 1 (Craig Russell 10 mins), Cheshire League 1 (Richard Chinn 87 mins)

At Springfield, St. Helier; Att; 356

After Extra Time (1-1 at 90 minutes)

Jersey won 4-3 on penalties
Cheshire went first, Jersey's 3rd was saved, Cheshire's 4th & 5th were saved

Jersey dominated the first half, hitting the bar, scoring with a header and having a very marginal offside "goal" chalked off all in the first 18 minutes
However injuries to three of Jersey's most influential players saw Cheshire come back strongly.
Just when it looked as though Cheshire would be thwarted they equalised with a header from a free kick.
At this stage it seemed more likely that Cheshire would go on to win but good saves at both ends took it to a shoot out.
Cheshire, who went first, had the advantage when Jersey's 3rd was saved only for Cheshire's 4th & 5th to be well saved too.
Therefore Jersey will meet Isle of Man for the right to succeed Guernsey as champions

As The Bowl is a 3G surface I believe that may not be the venue

Ray Lewis confirmed it would be on the day. I believe the rules say that both teams must agree to 3G but the FA retain the right to do whatever they want.

Jersey lodged a protest but the F.A. overruled it which is ironic in that all previous opponents have apparently been offered the option to decline it.

Also when the
West Yorkshire League v Liverpool County F.A. Premier League match was postponed to 14th January both teams were asked what they wanted should they win through to play in the Isle of Man. West Yorkshire said OK but Liverpool declined.

West Yorkshire "won" and the tie was arranged for the 3G only for Liverpool to be re-instated when it was found that West Yorkshire had included two ineligible players. However Liverpool were then told they had to play on the 3G as the tie had already been arranged for that date and venue.

So the two objectors will both have had to play on it which does make the option to decline seem a waste of time.

I don't think we were offered to the choice although perhaps we were and the manager just decided to go with it.

The main difference I think it made was to stamina. I didn't notice the run of the ball any different but our players seemed to be quite sluggish in the last hour - more than usual anyway. I asked one or two what they thought and they didn't think the pitch was an issue - they were just disappointed with their performance. But the goalkeeper (who would not have been subject to fatigue but would've noticed it more in others) seemed to agree.

Some of your players reported it to be exhausting to play on
