Racking my old braincells, there was a Wrexham fan who appeared briefly in Brookside as a lodger of Sinbad & Tinhead. They both thought initially he was a serial killer as there was a lot of noise coming from his bedroom when he first moved in. They got a shock when they found out instead he was a Wrexham fan.

Have managed to find the clip from about 6 minutes in.

The Everton fan on Brookside might have been Tinhead (Phillip Oliver, recently on Benidorm) who's bedroom was covered in EFC posters.

Was it the son of Jimmy Corkhill who went onto the be a Policeman having a go at Damian Grant who was a Liverpool fan in the series. That always irked Simon O'Brien who played Damian as he was a Evertonian in real life.

In the Liver Birds all of Beryl's family were Evertonians.

Ironically Bill Kenwright who played Sandra's boyfriend was a Liverpool fan

Are Walford Town still going?

Haven't seen Eastenders for years. Honest Wink

Arthur Fowler was an avid Walford Town fan. Many characters are West Ham fans - Mitchell brothers Phil and Grant who I remember wearing 'Fortunes Always Hiding' T Shirts (West Ham fanzine) when they were new to Walford, their cousin Billy Mitchell, Alfie Moon, Mick Carter and Garry Hobbs who named Ian's son Bobby after Bobby Moore when he thought it was his child. 'Nasty' Nick Cotton was a Leyton Orient fan.

Also in Brookside Margaret Clemence (played by Nicola Stephenson) - best remembered for her lesbian kiss with Beth Jordache (Anna Friel) - was an Oldham Athletic fan. I remember her referring to 'The Latics' when she first arrived in the Close.

Also wasn't Benny in Crossroads an Aston Villa fan? Set in that part of the world he wore a claret and blue bobble hat.

There was great episode of Rebus on one of the Sky freeview channels last night where Rebus is seeing a women who is also a Hibs fan, when in his flat he has a Hibs scarf pinned up behind his bed and as a treat he takes her to Easter Rd in the middle of the night, they walk onto the pitch and all the floodlights come on for them.

Anna Friel - she had an account in my WB...

Could it have not been Wigan, unless Oldham was actually stated?

Benny being Benny, it was probably Burnley...

Have been watching the Robbie Coltrane series 'Cracker' on DVD. In it, the character DCI David Bilborough (played by Christopher Eccleston) plays an avid Manchester United fan, with a team photo on his office wall and an MUFC football usually seen on the window sill.

In the series' most famous episode - 'To Be Someone' from 1994, written by Jimmy McGovern - a character called Albie Kinsella (played by Robert Carlyle) is a Liverpool fan who embarks upon a killing spree, prompted by he and his father's emotional scars following the Hillsborough tragedy. He later murders DCI Bilborough.

Not TV but on the radio, in 'The Archers' the male members of the Grundy family are known to occasionally go to Villa Park to watch Aston Villa. And the character Roy Tucker has recently been criticised for wearing a scruffy old Villa shirt, seen as evidence as to why he can't get himself a new girlfriend (his Brummy wife having left him). With the local obsession being cricket, the only other character who admits to an interest in football is the chef Ian, who is a season ticket holder at local side Felpersham City FC. With Borsetshire rumoured to be based on Worcestershire, it could be argued that this is a pseudonym for Worcester City FC.

Richard O'Sullivans character Robin Tripp in 'Man about the House' is a Southampton fan.
In the not very politically correct 'Love thy neighbour'. Eddie Booth the bigot is a Manyoo fan and the Bill the black guy is a West Ham fan.

Jack & Victor from Still Game are both Partick Thistle fans. Although this is never mentioned they do reminisce on a number of different occasions about standing on the terraces at Firhill in their younger days. In real life Ford Kiernan, who plays Jack, is a Gretna fan.

I seem to remember that many years ago Adam, as a child, talked about and maybe went to the occasional Worceseter City match.

In an episode of 'The Professionals' called 'A Stirring Of Dust' (Series 2, Episode 8, filmed in September 1978), Lewis Collins' character Bodie says "Liverpool for the Cup" while shaking hands with a KGB heavy. The written script actually had the line as "Arsenal for the Cup", but being a Liverpool fan Lewis changed it himself during filming.

When shaking hands with the same heavy at the end of the episode, he then says "Up the Dynamo Moscow".

Highlights of this episode include Doyle kicking a bloke out of a window, and Bodie saving precious seconds getting into the driving seat of his Capri by running across the bonnet!

Angel, Michelle's daughter in People Just Do Nothing, sports a lot of Brentford FC leisurewear. Therefore I think it is fair to assume she is a supporter of the Superbees.

Strangely enough, the title of this programme also forms part of standard operating procedures issued to Brentford defenders over the years.

Stephen Tompkinson did something similar in "Ballykissangel". His character was meant to be a Man United fan but he persuaded the writers to change it to Middlesbrough.

In "The Detectives" with Jasper Carrot and Robert Powell there is an episode called "Hostage" where Briggs & Louis are called in to a hostage situation on the same day as the FA Cup final, between Manchester United and Birmingham City, each support one of the teams. No TV footage is shown bit there is brief commentary.

In the later series of Taggart there was a ginger-haired CID officer called DC Stuart Fraser. The actor who played him, Colin McRedie, is an avid St Johnstone fan, attending most games home and away. He insisted that his St Johnstone coffee mug be used in each episode he appeared in - usually by him in the CID office scenes, but also cropping up as a prop in various other locations. It's in every episode he appeared in, sometimes in multiple locations.

In a later series of Shelley, or The Return of Shelley as it was called, he is seem wearing a black & white scarf while attending a game. I think the character of Shelley was a Fulham fan, but I don't recall it being mentioned.

Porridge was mentioned earlier in this thread and Lennie Godber says that he was a Aston Villa fan
