Re: [Richard Rundle] FIFA Officials Arrested [In reply to] Can't Post or

He is the only one they had a name for according to BBC Breakfast. All were lead away behind screens to hide their identity. Sepp Blatter was not one of those arrested.

Firstly it's been done on the eve of the vote to try and get him to resign / step down or to disrupt the vote. Secondly it will run and run as the further they dig the more they will find and not just with FIFA. Football in parts is rotten to the core and so many people are just there to get what they can get, they are not interested in football only feathering their own nests, sadly it happens in all walks of life.

Think the odds have shortened on Prince Ali.
I will consult Gareth on who to put my money on.

July 1, 2019 to June 30,2020 = 87 / 75 / 12 / inc 3 x 0-0's. (You know my rules) @ 14 / 10 / 2019.
2019/20. Benelux = Bel = 0-0-0-(I(MUI-I)-0-0)-(0-2-1-1)/ Lux = 0-2 / Neth = 0-0-0-(1 - 2) Others France = 0-0 / Germany =0-0-0 / Italy =0-1(Act 2- Frosinone new)./ Iberia = P = 0-0 & S = 0-0.

A few reasonable sized guns arrested there...
I wonder if they wagons will be circled or will
they be left out to dry?

I take it Figo dropped out of the race
or was strongarmed/paid to go away - allegedly.

Interesting timing [the arrests] too...

Conspiracy theory.

It seems clear to me that it has been done on the eve of the vote because that is when they knew all the people they want to arrest would be in the same place.

The Office of the Attorney General of Switzerland seizes documents at FIFA
https://www.news.admin.ch/...=en&msg-id=57391
U.S. authorities say FIFA vice presidents Webb, Figueredo among 14 indicted in corruption probe.

The US Department of Justice statement names nine Fifa officials and five “corporate executives” who have been indicted for “racketeering conspiracy and corruption”. The statement lists the individuals as:

Jeffrey Webb: Current Fifa vice-president and executive committee member, Concacaf president, Caribbean Football Union (CFU) executive committee member and Cayman Islands Football Association (CIFA) president.
Eduardo Li: Current Fifa executive committee member-elect, Concacaf executive committee member and Costa Rican soccer federation (FEDEFUT) president.
Julio Rocha: Current Fifa development officer. Former Central American Football Union (UNCAF) president and Nicaraguan soccer federation (FENIFUT) president.
Costas Takkas: Current attaché to the Concacaf president. Former CIFA general secretary.
Jack Warner: Former Fifa vice-president and executive committee member, Concacaf president, CFU president and Trinidad and Tobago Football Federation (TTFF) special adviser.
Eugenio Figueredo: Current Fifa vice-president and executive committee member. Former Conmebol president and Uruguayan soccer federation (AUF) president.
Rafael Esquivel: Current Conmebol executive committee member and Venezuelan soccer federation (FVF) president.
José Maria Marin: Current member of the Fifa organising committee for the Olympic football tournaments. Former CBF president.
Nicolás Leoz: Former Fifa executive committee member and Conmebol president.
Four of the defendants were sports marketing executives:

Alejandro Burzaco: Controlling principal of Torneos y Competencias SA, a sports marketing business based in Argentina, and its affiliates.
Aaron Davidson: President of Traffic Sports USA Inc (Traffic USA).
Hugo and Mariano Jinkis: Controlling principals of Full Play Group SA, a sports marketing business based in Argentina, and its affiliates.

FIFA are saying that the elections will still go ahead on Friday.

Re: [DonQuixote] FIFA Officials Arrested [In reply to] Can't Post or

Four have pleaded guilty already as have two corporate partners. FIFA say this is a good thing for them and that they gave all the evidence over to start it, though an investigator on BBC says that is rubbish. More to follow may only be the tip of the Ice Berg according to FBI, this covers a 24 year period - no one noticed then?. Those arrested are not suspended though when FIFA said that not sure they knew some had already pleaded guilty. If they are not released in time for the vote it appears they can't vote by Proxy, or that is what the FIFA spokesman Walter said though you wonder if they are all Blatter supporters their may be a loophole. Many of the journalists were "hinting" that Sepp Blatter should go, but the spokesman said this does not effect him. Also his travel plans have not changed and he will be going to the Women's World Cup in Canada where he could be intercepted at the Airport and questioned / arrested.

So with the Swiss prosecutors now involved having launched this criminal case into 2018/22 things are certainly going to get very interesting indeed. This could prove to be a very very good day for the world game.

Blatter must think he's Teflon to say that the vote still goes ahead and FIFA
are trying to batten down the hatches by saying that Russian & Qatar World Cups
will still go ahead - despite the now on-going investigation into their 'winning' bids.

Warner and his sons all plead guilty - extra charge of nepotism maybe?

As does Chuck Blazer - who deserves to be charged with a name like that.
