Junior clubs may now play friendly matches from July 1, rather than from the third week of July.

Am I right in saying that what was passed yesterday hands the right to decide the cut-off to the regions provided it isn't earlier than July 1st? That is what the North Juniors proposed 2 years ago, IIRC, but votes from clubs in the other regions saw it defeated. Glad to see it has prevailed this time - many would say there should be no cut-offs at all, or simply July 1st. However - if so, presumably it's possible or even likely that "3rd Saturday in July" or something similar will continue in West Juniors and East Juniors.

Proposal to change the West Juniors cut-off from 3rd Saturday in July to 1st Saturday in July (would have been July 4th this year) defeated at West AGM according to poster on P&B. That may mean it can't be tried again until 2017. Not sure what if anything is/was proposed regarding the East Juniors.
