Tonbridge & District Football League Can't Post or Reply Privately

The future of the Tonbridge & District Football League is at top of the agenda at the League meeting on the 1 February. The League is down to a single division and just 10 teams. Just 3 seasons ago the League had 26 teams and 3 divisions.

The League has ran since 1898 and fingers crossed will continue next season.http://www.tonbridgeleague.org.uk/

Kent and South East London are now down to just 8 district Leagues.
It will be a case of last man standing.
The one or two leagues that survive the next few years wii at least in the short term become as big as the County League. The rest history.
I hope Tonbridge and District survive but the ever gathering pace of this social trend suggests they will not.

The end of the Tonbridge League is looks a certainty now following the recent League meeting. The following statement has been released

The Future of the League - It was agreed at the clubs meeting on 1st February that approaches will be made to other local leagues with a view to a merger for season 2017 - 2018.

Another League to bite the dust

Yes the end is in sight.
Difficult to see who they could merge with.
Sevenoaks District is the nearest but they are in a far healthier position so i feel Tonbridge would be just absorbed rather than merged.
