Apparently Buckingham Town have re-entered the UCL, any ideas how this may affect the UCL Div One? Would Oakham or S&L Corby drop out?

To go one step further as you have a step 7. Is the constitution of that totally dictated by the LC or do you still have the main say as the league with just the occasional insistence over certain clubs inclusion by the LC.

Within regulations the league still have a degree of automony on Step 7 although the various rules & agreements with feeder leagues dictate many of the options.

A play off would only be a one off though, you could whittle 18 down to 9. Just have a draw or play on a neutral venue or 2 legged games. Spain whittles 54 down to 9 using play-offs so 18 to 9 is fairly simple. Not that I'm for them or PPG. When you have regional football and a limited number of promotion places something has to give. In some countries they have fixed boundaries so if teams from your area are relegated into your division that can push extra teams down. As an example VSG Altglienicke in Germany will be relegated if the team at the top of their division do not win their play off to go up! Even worse up to 3 teams who have won their division at level 4 in Germany will not be promoted. It is not uncommon for teams who finish 2nd not to go up on the continent. In Germany, the potential number of variable relegation places is set at the beginning of the year. If you finish in one of them, you're vulnerable to be relegated and lucky if you're not. In the end a lot of step 5 and 6 leagues here in the past varied the relegation places according to who came down from above and how many went up in virtually the same way. The problem with pooling, same divisional numbers and ppg is we aren't starting with an even structure. So any divisional imbalances lopside the pyramid on an ongoing basis. If the 2nd placed NL2 side does not get promoted on ppg, a team will have to transfer into NL1. Nearest current step 5 is Knaresborough but that's nearly 50 miles and an hour's drive to the nearest club in NL1. It'd be worse if there's no NL step 4 relegatees and/or the 2nd placed NL1 side is promoted. For me, any pooling should only be after getting a structure which has even divisions per area. I still believe fixed boundaries is better - you can then have 2 step 6 feeders to a step 5 in 1 area and 1 in others.

Should Nuneaton resign or worse fold hopefully they keep their club which clubs would you move around? Wimborne will go up as another PPG play off runner up despite having the same as Cambridge City but Wimborne have 1 better goal difference.

I know it’s a bit early, but Hebburn Town have made some significant signings & are going for promotion to the NPL1E next season. Looks like the bubbles burst on the EBAC NL’s closed shop attitude. They dont have an initial benefactor like South Shields do with Geoff Thompson, but they are attempting to mirror our model, increasing the online presence, boosting the junior ranks and get local businesses on board. The ground needs some work to get it up to scratch but the early signs are very promising, they had the best average attendance in Division 2 last season and got over 350 for their promotion clincher. Even with just these 4 signings, they're looking like championship dark horses.

Makes at least six NL1 competitors keen to go up (30%)... Bishop Auckland Consett Hebburn Shildon Stockton West Auckland Although they dont have the budget yet, id add Dunston UTS to that list

Just a bit of housekeeping next time you update your excellent work. Some of the Step 7 promotion clubs finished in slightly different positions - Garstang 1st, Shelley 10th, Vauxhall 2nd, Linotype C.H.N. 4th and Stone Dom. 11th. Also in New Clubs Lopes Tavares are missing. Keep up the good work!
