Given that the debt that is the cause of the petition is not the only one, I am very pessimistic about the club surviving.

For that to happen it probably needs an individual or group to step in, make an offer the owners can't refuse, clear the debts and provide enough cash to see the season out.

I know very little about insolvency law so I don't know what steps are open to the current owners or to potential new owners now the petition has been issued.

If the club is to survive or be reconstituted, the new owner(s) need to decide at what level this should be.

With the exception of 2012-13 average attendances have been below 300 and often below 200 in the club's time in the NPL and NCEL.

They were higher in the Conference seasons as you would expect.

It may well be that a return to the NCEL may be the best future option. Of course, if there is to be a brand new club, it could end up in the Humber Premier League.

It's disheartening but those of us with volunteer roles will carry-on until the end, whatever and whenever that may be.

At what point does the three division rule kick in. If they fold whilst still members of the Evo Stick Premier does that mean they could go in NCE 1? Does the three division rule even exist in practice?
I believe the ground is council owned so hopefully a new club could play there?

I believe it is still the case that if a club in Steps 1 > 3 folds during the season the very highest a Phoenix Club may restart the following year is Step 5 (blame Chester, who thought they were too big for the for the NWCL and the village clubs wouldn't cope with their 2000 travelling support). For a Step 4 Club & below it is a two step drop.

Didn’t Ilkeston start at step 6? I maybe wrong, but weren’t they placed at step 6 because there wasn’t any space for them at step 5?

Salisbury, Hereford, Darlington, Windsor, Rushden & Diamonds, and Kings Lynn all restarted at Step 5. Kings Lynn had to shoggle it as the league they wanted wanted to put them in Step 6, but found a neighbouring league with space at Step 5. No doubt someone will fill in exactly what happened with Ilkeston, but I can only surmise that they missed the reapplication deadline and could only get what was avaliable as latecomers.

You are wrong about AFC Rushden and Diamonds. They were made to restart in UCL 1 (step 6),

This is correct (apart from the nonsense about Chester). It's in the 18/19 NLS Regs. Don't know for how long this has been the rule and can't remember much about past cases like Ilkeston, R&D etc, mind.

AFC Telford United blagged their way in to the NPL 1 after saying they could never afford the upkeep of NBH should they be placed in the WMRL because of small gates.

I believe that Telford took what was, at the time, the statutory two step drop. Not quite sure how that was blagging.

Anyone think the owners want more problems which can then be "solved" by the move?

worse. Wimbleton had been looking for a ground for yonks and had constant battles with the council. North Ferriby have a ground in the village itself that is adequate.

The debt that was the subject of today's winding-up order was less than 8K. However, there are other creditors
The total owing is significantly higher. With nobody willing/able to meet the debts and finance the club going forward the judge was left with no option but to liquidate the club.

Sorry if it’s already been mentioned in this thread, but are North Ferriby Athletic in the Humber Premier League a fans breakaway club?
Will the fans of N.F.U. get behind them or are they a rival?

NF Athletic is a separate club which is registered in it's own right with the FA. NFU dual-registered some players. As an existing club it may have missed the deadline for applying to the NCEL for next season.
A newly formed club has 21 days from the day of petition to apply.
We wait and see.
FYI, the youth set-up is a separate company so should be able to keep playing.

If a new club was formed, would the aim to be placed in the NCEL1(step 6)? If this happens, is this what the fans wanted? ie get your club back & keep it in the village. But in doing so, your club has died over less than an £8k debt

Re: [windydcfc] North Fetrriby United [In reply to] Can't Post or Reply Privately

The fans have said at a number of meetings over the last couple of years that they want a team playing in the village and that, for many the level is not that important.
I guess Step 6 is the most likely destination for a new club but that probably depends on there being a vacancy.
The club has been liquidated because of the debt already mentioned. However there are other creditors that the club could not have paid had push come to shove. Other creditors were circling. Whilst I have an idea of the sums involved, my figures could be an over/under estimate so I'm not going to say what they could be. We shall only know when the liquidator has finished.

Re: [Villager] North Ferriby United [In reply to] Can't Post or Reply Privately

This is desperately sad news. It's not even two years since Tranmere made their one and only visit to Ferriby for a league match and our officials and fans alike spoke highly of the welcome they received that night. Today's events have aroused much sympathy on social media from our end, including our owners and the lads who cover us in the local press.

Looking forward, I suppose one key question concerns the future of the ground and whether it can be made available to any Phoenix club. If it can, then hopefully a successful rebirth isn't too far away.
