Chris Hughton sacked by Brighton.

I was surprised by this news, Brighton kept their PL status and reached the FAC semi final but summer is almost here it's that start of the summer managerial merry-go-round

Finished a couple of points off the drop zone with three wins in the last 23 games and none in the final nine. I was also surprised by the sacking but with stats like that you can understand why club pulled the trigger.

Brighton should look at Ipswich to see the consequences of removing a stale manager.

I think they’ll really struggle next season.

The consequences at Ipswich are more to do with the awful choice of replacement rather than getting rid of McCarthy. If we'd have kept last season's squad, we'd have probably stayed up comfortably, but selling Waghorn and Garner and replacing them with League One players was a huge error by Hurst.

Despite how awful we were, crowds were up nearly 10% as some of those who had had enough of McCarrthy's football and attitude returned.

Fair enough. If Ipswich fans are happy, then good for you.

Enjoy league One next season.

Astonishing. Sacked for losing a penalty shoot out.

Replaced by youth team boss John Dempster. Might suggest the budget won't be so lavish next season.

More likely sacked for being in the top three for most of the season and then blowing it (on a big budget). Can't be sorry for him as his brand of football at Swindon was shocking - so glad he left when he did to the Stags

Suggestions appear it was contractual meaning it was written into his contract that if he didn’t win promotion he and his back room staff would leave.

Not really the correct section on the forum for this one but Steve Clarke is the new Scottish national coach, on a 3 year deal

Can't see Graham Potter being any better than Chris Hughton.

At which point of his tenure? Winning a game would be better than Hughton's last couple of months.

Seemed to take an age finally getting this one across the line but Jonathan Woodgate has been appointed manager at Middlesbrough assisted by Robbie Keane.
