Boris Johnson was told about the risks of freeing terrorists but told the lawyer for the London Bridge killer that there was no money available to deradicalise him.

He clearly hadnít yet found the magic election money tree.

The Tory lead plummets still further.

Tories 39
Labour 33

Lead more than halved in just one week.

So you're one of them NHS cultists who revere the NHS as a religion .

FYI it was Labour that introduced private companies into the NHS on an industrial scale.

My partner works in the NHS and fyi it's a shambles thanks to poor management not poor funding.

Where did that come from.....?
This is your guilt by association trope you like to abuse

Just because I don't accept your blithe and I'll informed prejudices doesn't give you the right to align me with anyone that I don't claim for myself.

I have never been a member of the Conservative party......have only voted for them once , tactically, to keep out the SNP....successfully btw.....and have voted Labour 8 or so times.....but wont at this election !
In these times of tactical voting where you place ur vote isnt necessarily where your politics reside!

Bully for you.

Which of Johnsonís personality traits most appeal to you?

His racism, his elitism, his cowardice, his lying, his sexism his incompetence, his laziness or his homophobia?

I'm sorry to have to say this again but the two of you are stifling debate on this thread or maybe nobody else is actually interested... I am not sure which.
If you want to just reply to each others posts you can do it on the PM system and spare the rest of us from the point scoring and the look how much cleverer I am than you stuff.
The reality is that opinion is divided, you two are not going to change your opinions even if hell freezes over so I would like to hear some other more open posts on this thread maybe from people who are still undecided.

The next swath of polls mostly have the lead shrinking for the Tories:
YouGov 9% (down 2%)
Opinium 15% (down 4%)
BMG 6% (down 7%)
Savanta/ComRes 10% (up 3%)
Panelbase 8% (down 2%)

Opinium and BMG are outliers of all the polls, the lead seems to be between 8-10%, on average c2-3% down week-on-week. If that trend continues a 5-6% lead may well lead to another hung parliament.

Electoral Calculus have the majority at 22 seats (c8%).

As always, the margin of error is ignored.

Based on the figures EC is using, Labour could have as many as 311 seats and the Tories could have as few as 247 at the 90% confidence level.

All we can be fairly sure of is that Labour is on the rise and the Tories have stalled.

Remember in 2017 the final polls predicted a 8% lead for May. Only the opinion poll predicting the smallest Tory lead got it right.

I think we can see why BoJo wanted to face Marr. That guy thinks shouting over his guests suggests heís putting them under pressure. Boris remained cool and calm throughout and made Marr look like an idiot.

The problem with the interview was that Johnson doesn't understand the purpose of an interview is to answer the questions which are posed. Time and again Marr had to stop his bluster as he tried to make a political speech unrelated to the questions put.

Johnson really isn't very good at all.

That's a selection of some of the reasons why so many of us find it bizarre that Johnson should be in any position of responsibility in Government.

Maybe someone who thinks Johnson is a suitable person to lead the UK Government could list the qualities he has that they feel does make it appropriate to be PM?

I'm genuinely interested in the other viewpoint. Is his Unique Selling Point solely his determination to see through our departure from the EU, or is there something I'm missing?

Just replying to the general tenor of things rather than to jon b's post.

Basically, throughout the politics stuff, there's too much of what I believe the rheoricians call 'to quoque'

As in 'fair enough...perhaps my bloke's not so hot...but look at all the crap stuff your bloke's done'.

This has been the death spiral that largely English politics has been in for 4 years...and sadly I can see no one or no way to help us get out of the problem.

The GE? At its heart it's simple.

In England

Do you think the last 9 years has been good for the nation and we need more of the same? Vote Tory

Do you think the last 9 years has been a disaster and we need to change course? Vote Labour

Everything else is flim flam

I'm sure that's what those two parties want us to believe.

And look how wonderfully well that's turned out.
