Premier League

Sheffield United 0 Newcastle United 2

Bramall Lane, Sheffield

Admission - 40 Programme - 3.50 Attendance - 30,409

A prelude to a three game trip to Portugal saw me head to Bramall Lane for a rare Thursday night game which would leave me handily placed for the drive over to Liverpool Airport the following morning.

Excellent support for Newcastle who 'did a job' on the Blades scoring with probably their only two chances of the game.

Controversy with their 2nd goal with the linesman at fault for raising his flag for offside and the Blades defence more at fault for stopping play as a result of the said flag. Shelvey stayed alert and put the ball in the net to seal the three points for the Toon.

Overnight stop in Sheffield meant avoiding the normal three and a half hour journy home.
