A popular league with many on here who hit the delights of Berlin and all it has to offer on and off the pitch. A long way from the capital but league members FSV Wacker Nordhausen have been hit with a 9 point deduction after filing for bankruptcy.

Rot Weiss Erfurt have also filed for bankruptcy. There next two games have been cancelled. Not sure what is happening for the rest of the season.

They are off. Today all players were allowed to leave. They struggle. May play Oberliga, DE 5, next season. Or a restart at lowest level, 2. Kreisklasse, DE 11.

Saw RW Erfurt at Babelsberg earlier this season. Great away support. Think they were relegated a few seasons ago from Liga 3 for financial problems.

Got relegated in 2019 after spending 10 years in 3. Liga.

Babelsberg (who have also gone bankrupt in the recent past) are currently in the final relegation place 6 points adrift of safety and could be the winners in this sad affair.

SV Lichtenberg 47 are again moving fixtures away from the Hans-Zoschke. This Sunday (16/02) against BFC Dynamo and on February 29th against Chemnie Leipzig. Both games will be played at the Poststadion for security reasons.

Club have applied to join the Oberliga next season but will be leaving the Steigerwald Stadion to play at the smaller ground at Grubenstrasse with only a few fixtures being held at the former.

No games in this league for the next couple of weeks at least and for anyone heading to Berlin the city has closed down football wise for the same period. :((n)

Whatever the future holds for the Friedrich-Ludwig-Jahn-Sportpark VSG Altglienicke will be playing no part in it after they announced they are moving to the Willi - Sanger Sportanlage. 1.3m euros is being spent on the place including floodlights. The only club I can find currently using it is Kreisliga outfit FC Treptow.

Plenty of others use the complex but there is a 3G there as well, so who plays where ?

There are a few teams mentioned on the fencing of one of the photos.

1.3m Euros , might need more , it's a dump.

A couple of years old a few of the photos but they've not done anything recently =

Cheers Hod.

I'll have to check if ive been to this place. VSG are currently top of the league but looking at the photos 3.liga isn't even a distant dream in surroundings like that!!

Will be interesting to see what happens in Germany re this season. Big changes were afoot at Regionalliga with 5 leagues becoming 4 (and thereafter direct promotion to 3.Liga instead of playoffs), not sure if that's in doubt.

From DFB.DE - the following is a translation of the situation below the 3. Liga

In principle, it is in the interest of all clubs and associations if catch-up dates are found, all games of the 2019/20 season are played and the season could be ended regularly. At the moment, however, it is not possible to make a serious assessment of when the resumption of gaming operations should be implemented in accordance with the recommendations or guidelines of the responsible authorities and whether this can still happen in the current season. If necessary, the suspension will be extended again or the game operations of the current season may be completely stopped - always dependent and in accordance with the official availability.

For the three national leagues, and the DFB Pokal, it appears they will try to restart when they can - with the aim of completing the season by the end of June - 13 League matches to be played.

I heard from a Kickers Offenbach fan that the restructuring to 4 divisions is off, maybe permanently. They still hope to complete the season and 5 Regionalliga's will continue next season.

From Potsdam news - Regionalliga Nordost season is over

Regionalliga Nordost
Season should not continue
According to PNN information, the Northeast German Football Association will end its regional league play this season. SV Babelsberg 03 then holds the class. The decision about the season winner and the organization of the next season is controversial. Tobias Gutsche

Potsdam - The Northeast German Football Association (NOFV) will allow the 2019/20 season to expire on June 30 without resumption of play. According to PNN information, this is the result of a video conference of the association with its 18 regional league teams on Tuesday (12.05.2020). Thus, the season in the fourth division for SV Babelsberg 03 has ended prematurely, in the Brandenburg State Cup the Kiezkicker should play the semi-final against Grün-Weiß Lübben and, if successful, the final, that is the intention of the Brandenburg Football Association (FLB).
No relegation, final result by quotient rule
The premature end of the season in the Regionalliga Nordost would mean relegation for the SVB, because there are reportedly no relegations. According to the current table status, the SVB is in third last place. The tableau from March 17, when the game was discontinued due to the corona pandemic, should also be decisive for the question of who will be reported from the northeast season for the relegation games for the 3rd division. The NOFV is considering applying the so-called quotient rule, according to which the number of points achieved so far is divided by the number of games played. Accordingly, the 1. FC Lok Leipzig would play against the first of the Regionalliga Relay West for the third division promotion - at the moment this would be the SC Verl.

After a difficult season, the SVB was in need of relegation - this now seems to be averted. Photo: Sebastian Gabsch
However, it is obviously not yet clear whether this solution will actually be found. According to PNN information, the majority of the northeast regional league clubs have declared that they do not consider the quotas to be a sporty, but ultimately fairest solution. Ultimately, the question will be decided by the NOFV Presidium. There is resistance from leaders and Herbstmeister VSG Altglienicke and from FC Energie Cottbus. Both clubs claim a sporty solution, which the Lusatians want to apply to the NOFV for. A decision tournament was also up for discussion recently.

Altglienicke led the table at the time the game was interrupted. The tied pursuer Lok Leipzig played one game less and would pass the VSG by the quotient rule. Cottbus follows with two points less and the same number of games as Altglienicke.
Inflated league in the next season
A season end without a relegation from the regional league, the planned continuation of play in the 3rd league with possible relegations from the northeast - FC Carl Zeiss Jena, FSV Zwickau, Hallesche FC and also 1. FC Magdeburg are playing for relegation - as well The promoters from the Oberliga will have the result that the Regionalliga Nordost will be significantly increased in the coming season and there will be more games. This gives the association the task of organizing a tight schedule.

However, due to the regulations to curb the corona pandemic, it is still completely unclear when a new season can begin. It is quite possible that the new season will start with a limited number of spectators. Large events with more than 1000 participants are prohibited until the end of August. In the video conference on Tuesday, there should have been different opinions between the clubs as to whether the new season should start as early as possible due to the increased number of games or to avoid "ghost games" later.

I wonder if the licencing requirement date of June 22nd will be moved to give any clubs looking at promotion a helping hand in these unusual times? Lok would have problems both economically and with the Bruno - Plache Stadion meeting the date by all accounts and are there not play offs with Regionalliga West to decide any potential promotion this season?

Yes, there's a playoff due with Regionalliga West - I have a feeling that is in the same position, remaining games cancelled, but not decided on the final positions yet.

Somewhat hard to see how 3.Liga will play without crowds and without TV income.

In a conference call, the clubs of the Regionalliga Nord der Herren voted in a conference call together with the Managing Director of the NFV, Jürgen Stebani and Reenald Koch, Chairman of the NFV Regional League Committee, in favour of cancelling the 2019/2020 season.

All participants of the 18 clubs of the Regionalliga Nord der Herren confirmed the pre-survey view that a continuation of the season with "ghost games" or at a later date was not feasible for them and that an end to the season was without an alternative.

There were discussions about whether the question of promotion and relegation should be answered by quotient. The quotient is calculated from the number of points achieved on the deadline of the suspension of the game on 12 March 2020 divided by the number of games played so far. The majority of the club representatives were in favour of renouncing relegation and wanting to play with an increased league in the coming season.

As part of the survey sent out earlier, some clubs proposed a relegation round (round-up) between VfB Lübeck and VfL Wolfsburg instead of the quotient scheme regarding the question of promotion to the 3rd division. After extensive exchange of views between the participants, a narrow majority voted in favour of hosting a relegation.

The opinion of the associations is now included in the decision of the NFV Board. This will be put to the vote at an Extraordinary NFV Association Day (date expected at the end of June).

The question of a possible alternative game plan design in the event of suspension of the relegation in the 2020/2021 season will be discussed in the game technical committees in the coming weeks, closely linked to the situation of the Länder/federal states.

NFV President Günter Distelrath would like to thank the participants for a constructive and objective discussion, which was always fair despite difficult topics and emotional concern. "We know that the decisions that need to be taken now will not satisfy everyone equally and will sometimes have far-reaching consequences."

Whilst I'm sure Hoddy and Kirby Knitters will be well aware of it, for the unitiated, 'relegation' is used in German to mean a playoff, in this case wholly a promotion playoff but in some cases a playoff between sides at different levels where one side is playing to retain their place and the other to depose them.
