A few withdrawals in recent days. Hunsworth have been struggling for some time in the West Yorkshire League, and they have unsurprisingly folded. In the Huddersfield League, Dewsbury Town have gone (remember they very nearly didn't start the season), as have both Marsh Athletic teams (Marsh were newcomers to the league).

Apparently Hunsworth are planning on entering the YAL next year.

It would be nice to see them return.
Incidently, how on the earth is the YAL Supreme Division going to catch up with fixtures? Some clubs have only played 5 fixtures so far ! (Westbrook have only played 2 in the Championship division!)

Not sure whats happening at Whitkirk; they took the players from Amaranth Crossgates and thought they had way too many players pre-season (They were sending to other clubs); now it looke like they dont have enough!

Why have Wortly & Horsforth only played 5 games?

On a side note it was interesting to see Farsley hammer Beeston St Anthony (Top of WYL) 5-1 last week in the cup. Will be interesting to see of the YAL keeps getting stronger and what will happen to clubs who host teams in both leagues (Cents, Mods, Hudds Am etc)

It all looks good for silly season to finish off the YAL.

In the Craven League, Bingley Town have sadly had to fold their reserve team foor the remainder of the season due to a player shortage.

Cleckheaton have dropped out of the Huddersfield league following Dewsbury Town and Mount last month.

There always seems to be a fair few drop outs (and new clubs) in Huddersfield

Whitkirk, Wortley and Horsforth have all been successful in their respective County and/or District Cups (Whitkirk are in the final of theirs) as well as in the YOB Shield and the YAL league cups. Combined with some poor weather and postponements it has left them with a few to play!

Kippax have withdrawn their reserves from the WYL Alliance 2

Rumours they may need to pull their first team too

Hartshead are no more

The players will play as Gomersal & Cleckheaton next year. Not sure where yet.

G&S have a large youth setup and have been looking to 'merge'. I heard it would be Hunsworth but not so...

After further information it's looks like it is Hunsworth too.

Hunsworth wil be the reserve's in the YAL whilst Hartshead will be their WYL team

They will play at Hunsworth

Three clubs have withdrawn from the West Yorkshire League for the 2020/21 season.
Newsome FC from the Premier.
Campion reserves, Kippax FC from Division 1.
Note on Fulltime states no changes will be made to the respective divisions.

What's happened at Newsome? Great club with a solid structure?

Presume they're keeping their side in the Huddersfield League?
Looking at Twitter, their manager moved to Huddersfield YM, they look to be still in the Huddersfield & District League.

It seems that aspiring clubs are preferring to go the Yorkshire Amateur League route these days, especially now that its top division is now on a par with the West Yorkshire league's top division. Could we start to see the WYL decline in the same manner as the defunct West Riding County Amateur League?

Surely it should be the WEST Yorkshire Amateur League.

It's like the Yorkshire Evening Post, coming across as representing the whole county when it's basically just Leeds.
